I am a complete mess when it comes to jewelry storage. I used to drop it  everywhere in the house after I came back home in the evening, and sometimes it took me days before I could find it again. Just yesterday I incidentally stumbled upon a “homeless” pile of sparkling bangles, anklets, rings and earrings I brought from my recent trip to India.

My problem is, I cannot help buying new jewelry. Even if I know I will wear it only once or twice, it is hard to resist the temptation.  It is a disease, something that is stronger than me!. So I ended up having quite an impressive collection of those “little pretty things”, & I urgently needed an “organizer” to regain control of my mess!

Initially I thought that cute small boxes would do the thing, but soon it became clear, that it was not the best idea.  Hidden in boxes, my jewelery was out of sight, and after a while I could hardly remember what was in there. It is like piling up stuff in your wardrobe without an order: in the end you forget what is stuffed there under, & end up wearing only what is visible on the top of the pile.

I like to have a clear overview of my things, but I did not want my necklaces & bracelets hanging around like some Christmas tree decorations collecting dust.

So, yesterday absolutely by chance I saw this cute plastic jewelry containers, and they were exactly what I needed.  I bought them on the spot. Inadvertently, I bought only two of them, & I am realizing now, I need some more… They are so convenient & practical: every piece is stored in a separate pocket, & it is safe from dust & damage. I can see & access all of them all & I keep these “jewelery bags” hanging in my wardrobe.

I guess it is not that hard to make these containers at home, also using other materials. One can customize the size and the number of pockets according to their needs. It can be either small & cute case just for finger & toe rings or as big as a wall for a much larger collection, including hair pins & other accessories. Depending on the style of your apartment, it can turn into a piece of furniture!
